Black Orlando Tech (BOT) is a nonprofit organization that is committed to accelerating minority economic advancement through the workforce, small business, and socioeconomic development by increasing the awareness, activities, networks, and resources for local minorities who pursue careers or entrepreneurship in technology.

BOT was founded in 2016 by passionate tech leaders who saw the need for an inclusive, safe space for minorities in tech.

Our Programs

  • The BOT Tech Cohort Project is an accelerated applied training program for participants to gain introductory to intermediate level skills within a particular topic in technology, resulting in increased opportunities that will socio-economically benefit the local minority community. The BOT cohort leadership team will facilitate the training sessions through introductory-level knowledge, topics, exercises, and activities, leading to more advanced training activities to create a stronger pipeline to a relevant certification.

  • The BOT Startup Series is an entrepreneurial development program for participants to gain the skills needed to launch a successful tech startup company resulting in increased opportunities that will socio-economically benefit the local minority community. The series will comprise one topic a month over 6 to 8 months.

    The BOT Startup Series leadership team will facilitate the training sessions by partnering with local organizations and leaders who can provide expertise and resources.

  • BOT’s Emerging Tech Talk’s are an open monthly series for anyone to join in and gain insight into emerging technology and skills in Orlando, and around the world in order to highlight local entrepreneurs, startups and leaders resulting in increased opportunities that will increase partnerships to benefit the local minority community.
